Forest violet is the generalized name for the wild-growing species of these flowers. They grow in forests, clearings, forest edges and fields. The breeders were very interested in the flower. The baron's son met a violet on a walk, he really liked it, he decided to send it to his father.

Currently, the violet can be found in the field, in the forest, at the edges. Plants grow in flower beds. They prefer elevated areas with diffused light, some species like bright sun.

Tricolor violet

The biological description tells about the size of leaves, stems and growth rate. For each type of hotel, the indicators are different. Details about each species:

  1. Tricolor. The foliage is green, the shoots are 10-15 cm high, the shape is elongated, lanceolate, the edges are slightly irregular. Stems are light green, elastic. The top of the stem ends with a leaf or flower. Found in the forest, the most common species. Every day gives new shoots.
  2. Doggy. It is found in the forest and in open areas: in fields and meadows. The leaves are rounded, the stems are erect, light green in color. It grows quickly, forms new shoots every day.
  3. Swamp. Grows on wet, swampy soils and swamps. It has large, bright green leaves, rounded. A bud is formed in the center of the collected shoots. Flowers bloom every day. New shoots grow in a few days.
  4. Violet white wild. Bushes 20 cm high, bright green leaves, erect stems. The foliage is shaped like a rounded heart. The plant is perennial, gives new shoots and flowers every year.
  5. Violet meadow. It has dense high stems, reaches a height of about 30 cm. The leaves are yellow-green in color. There are nodules on the stem, from them leaves are lanceolate, small in size, about 5 cm long. A perennial plant that forms new stems every year.
  6. Fragrant. It is found in the forest, has a short growing season. Stems are low up to 15 cm, leaves are rounded with a pointed end.

How and when it blooms in natural conditions

The violet is often found in nature. Each species has its own characteristics of flowering. The flowers are slightly different. It is rather difficult to distinguish them with an inexperienced eye. If you study the features of the color, then it will not be difficult. Flowers have the following colors:

  • Tricolor - the species got its name, thanks to its color, the flower combines three colors at once: yellow, blue and white. The diameter of the inflorescence is 3 cm. Flowering occurs in May and lasts until September, the bush constantly forms new shoots and flowers;
  • Canine - the petals are light blue or light purple in color, sometimes white, the diameter of the flower is 2-3 cm. It blooms in early May and ends in early July;
  • Marsh - the color of the petals is pale purple, a distinctive feature is the presence of dark purple stripes on the lower petal. The diameter of the inflorescence is 3-4 cm. It starts flowering in May and ends by mid-summer;

  • White - wild violet has milky white flowers, yellow core with stamens, 5 petals, inflorescence diameter - 4 cm. It begins to bloom in May and continues to bloom until the end of the summer season;
  • Meadow - the smallest flowers in this species. It is painted in three colors: the upper petal is purple, the core is bright yellow with brown veins, all other petals are white. The diameter of the inflorescence is 1-1.5 cm. It begins to bloom in early May, continues to give new buds until the end of August;
  • Fragrant - a bright purple color is striking, and a floral pleasant smell also emanates from the bush. For this, the species got its name. Even the core of the flower is blue or light blue. The first buds bloom in May, flowering lasts only 4 weeks.

How is it used at home

You can use it at home for different purposes. It has long been known that flowers of tricolor and meadow violets have medicinal properties. They are widely used in folk medicine. Decoctions and infusions relieve fever and reduce inflammation.

Growing a wild violet in your own garden will not be difficult. She will perfectly decorate summer flower beds. White forest violets are planted along fences, stone hedges, decorative borders. Planting is possible with ready-made bushes or seeds.

Purple flowers are combined with other plants. Taller crops are selected. The combination makes lovely combinations. It is advisable to choose flowers with a similar flowering period.
