Types of Lydia roses in planting

Growing a flower

Like any other member of this group, Love Lydia rose is best planted with seedlings. The likelihood that it will take root and bloom increases several times than when planting with seeds.

The flower can be planted both in autumn and spring. Before this, it is necessary to fertilize the soil with minerals: in the fall, so that the flower can overwinter, and in the spring, because the soil is weakened after winter. But it is best to do this in the spring to protect the plant.

It easily tolerates the sun, but if it shines 24/7, it threatens to reduce the intensity of the color and possibly dry out. In constant shade, the rose will also be fine, but with a moderate amount of sun, the flower opens to its full. Therefore, it is better to choose a site where the sun will illuminate it for half a day. Thus, it will not be oversaturated, but there will also be no light deficiency.

Note! For better growth, you need to prepare a certain soil mixture. It is necessary to add sand, peat, humus, phosphorus-potassium fertilizers there. A small amount of oak bark is beneficial. Before planting, seedlings can be dipped in the mixture to stimulate root growth.

Planting procedure step by step:

  1. Dig a hole 40 × 40 × 40 cm.
  2. Pour the prepared soil into it by 30-35 cm.
  3. Plant seedlings.
  4. Bury, tamp.
  5. Water abundantly.
  6. Can be mulched so that moisture does not evaporate quickly.

Plant care

There is no need to create a special watering schedule for this type of rose. It is enough to do this once a week, in especially hot weather it can be increased up to two times. This should be done in the morning or evening, when there is no hot sun.

Important! You need to pour water at the root, and not on the leaves, because there is a possibility of damaging the greens, which will receive sunburn.

Top dressing and soil quality

It is necessary to feed the soil with intensive flowering. This is done with mineral fertilizers. It would also be nice to mulch the soil with organic matter. To do this, you do not need to take something special, you can use household plant waste (mowed grass from the lawn, sawdust, etc.), straw, bark of trees (fruit), spruce branches, etc.

Pruning and replanting

You need to cut the plant when dried leaves, buds, shoots appear. It can also be done during a period of active growth to stimulate the growth of strong branches and buds. After flowering, it is necessary to cut off all the leaves and buds, shorten the length of the stems, and cover the flower for wintering at the end of November.

A transplant is done at any time, but it is better in the spring and summer. Transfer instructions are the same as for boarding.

Important! When digging up, you should be careful not to damage the roots, otherwise the plant may die.

Features of wintering a flower

This flower is frost-hardy, but it is still worth covering it for the winter. This process does not differ in any way from the shelter of other roses. The procedure is carried out somewhere in October-November. First you need to cover it with soil (15-20 cm) and cover it with spruce branches. If the frosts are predicted to be too severe, then it is worth making a frame, which is covered with polyethylene material.

Wintering roses

Blooming rose

Rose Love Lydia blooms almost continuously from late May to September. From year to year, its flowering pleases with its abundance and beauty.

Important! During and after flowering, the plant will benefit from top dressing and special attention. If the soil under the bush dries up quickly, it is worth increasing the watering and sheltering from the abundant sun. With poor growth of a bush with weak buds, it is necessary to fertilize the soil, etc.

Lack of flowering

If the Lovely Lydia rose is well rooted after planting, it rarely happens that it does not bloom. But, if this happens, you need to fertilize with phosphorus-containing dressings, water abundantly in order to create the most favorable conditions for growth.

Flower propagation

It is best to cut a rose from May to August. To do this, you need to obliquely cut a branch with several pairs of leaves, put it in water until the root system forms. It is advisable to first dip it into the root solution for 2-3 hours. As soon as the roots appear, you need to plant the cutting in a pot of peat or sand. It is necessary to cover the sprout with plastic wrap and periodically open it for airing and remove accumulated condensation. When the shoot gets stronger, it can be planted in the ground.

Diseases, pests and ways to control them

The cause of disease or pest damage is improper or insufficient care of the plant. In this case, you need to look at the problem and eradicate it. If the plant dries up, it is worth watering more abundantly, if it withers, then the roots rot due to, on the contrary, excessive moisture, it is necessary to reduce the amount of water applied, if it does not bloom or grows poorly, then it is worth adding fertilizers, etc.

Rose Lovely Lydia

When a flower is overpowered by pests (aphids, spider mites, thrips), it is necessary to treat the plant with actellik, phytoverm, actara or intavir.

Rose Lydia Lovely is a beautiful flower that will decorate the site of any gardener. She does not require special care, and her flowers will be admired by everyone.
